About this Course:

 

This QQI Level 4 Guarding Skills Training Course 4N20604 qualification provides participants with the minimum training requirements determined to apply for the Private Security Authority (PSA) Guarding Skills License.

Under new QQI requirements, this course requires 100 hours of learning; 30 hours must be contact time, which can only be achieved by attending 4 classroom training days. To make up the remaining 70 hours, you will be required to conduct a home study element of the course during attendance, covering the more theoretical aspects of the program.

This course is accredited by the Security Institute of Ireland and is approved by the Private Security Authority.

Required Information

 

All participants are required to bring a form of Identification to the induction day (Passport, Drivers Licence or Public Services Card) and 2 Passport photos. You will also be required to provide your PPS Number.

 

Induction Day

 

Please note that the Induction is in person and you will need to bring the required information above.

 

Before registration takes place, all prospective learners will need to take a short English Assessment as this is required by the Private Security Authority (PSA).

 

A short Human Trafficking Course as per the PSA requirements will need to be completed before Assessment Day at the end of the course, and this will be explained to you as part of the Induction.

 

Assessment:

 

 50 Multiple Choice Questions, Incident report writing, and 3 practical assessments.

 

Assessments are conducted in person.

Course Delivery:

 

This is classroom-based learning.

 

Please note that all training spaces meet social distancing requirements.

 

All participants must be available at the time of training.

Entry Requirements


No previous experience is necessary. 

Payment:

Please note that the fee, including the non-refundable deposit for this course, is €335.00.

 

To reserve your place on this course you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of €150.00 to reserve your place on the course. The remaining balance of €185.00 must be paid on the induction day if you want to take part in the course.
