Combined Static & Retail and Door & Event Security Course
About this Course:
This QQI Level 4 Guarding Skills Training Course with the Door and Event course qualification provides participants with the training requirements determined to apply for the Private Security Authority (PSA) Combined Static and Door license with the Private Security Authority.
Candidates who complete both courses and attain both licenses can work in all security sectors in Ireland, including as security guards in shops, factories, data centres, office blocks, major indoor and outdoor concerts and sporting events, pubs, and clubs! A majority of our students pick this option as the best value option, and it widens the prospect of our students seeking employment across the industry.
This course will cover the key elements of the Guarding Skills and the Door and Event Security Course.
Learners will learn the basic elements such as Patroling, Health and Safety, Communications, and the law. in both the Static and Door and Events sectors.
Delivery
QQI Level 4 Guarding Skills:
The Guarding Skills Course is split into 4 x 7.5 hours (30 hours class) with the balance of 70 hours self-directed to complete.

Required Information
All participants are required to bring a form of Identification to the induction day (Passport, Drivers Licence or Public Services Card) and 2 Passport photos. You will also be required to provide your PPS Number.
Induction Day
Please note that the Induction is in person and you will need to bring the required information above.
Before registration takes place, all prospective learners will need to take a short English Assessment as this is required of the Private Security Authority (PSA).
A short Human Trafficking Course as per the PSA requirements will need to be completed before Assessment Day at the end d of the course and this will be explained to you as part of the Induction.
Assessments
The Assessments are held over two days:
Guarding Skills (Static) Assessment:
50 Multiple Choice Questions, Incident report writing and 3 practical assessments to be completed in person.
Door & Event Assessment:

50 Multiple Choice Questions & 3 Practical Assessments.

2 Days Physical Intervention Training and Techniques is included as part of the assessment
Entry Requirements
No previous experience is necessary. A QQI Level 3 Certificate is desirable, or some equivalent qualifications or relevant life experiences.
Payment:
Please note that the fee for this course is €520.00. In order to reserve your place on this course you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of €200.00 to reserve your place on the course. The remaining balance must be paid on the induction day.
